Despite taking up the sport of triathlon less than 12 months ago, SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder James Goswell completed the 2012 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, over the weekend.
Goswell, a former Sydney University Boat Club representative, switched to triathlon’s last year and has been training and competing ever since.
The Bachelor of Commerce student finished the race in 9:56.43, placing him 12th in the 18-24 male age group and 322nd overall.
