Sydney University Cricket Club (SUCC) representative and SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Scott Henry has been selected in the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues squad that will play against Western Australia.
Henry, who played two Sheffield Shield matches for his state in 2011, has been selected in both the Ryobi Cup (50 overs match) on September 16 and the Sheffield Shield first round match on September 18-21. Both matches are in Perth.
Henry was a member of our SUCC’s two successful 1st Grade Premiership sides, having scored 132 in the 2010/11 final and 90 in last season’s final.
Joining Henry in the Ryobi Cup squad is new SUCC representative Sean Abbott, who has joined the club in the off-season having previously played for Parramatta.
Australian skipper Michael Clarke will captain the Blues against the Warriors in both games.
Both Abbott and Henry will be looking for strong starts to the season after receiving their first full contracts with NSW this season.
