All seven teams from Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) are in action this weekend, with the Colts playing in their three respective Grand Finals and the Club’s four Grade teams doing battle in Elimination Preliminary Finals to secure their place in the 2012 Grade Grand Finals to be played next weekend.

“There is an amazing energy flowing through the Club at the moment, with all seven teams heavily focused on their individual games this weekend,” said Executive General Manager, Baden Stephenson.

“Each team knows that they have a job to do this weekend and they are taking that very seriously, but the players also know that they need to be there to support their fellow Clubman and ensure that as a Club we get through this period united as one team.”

After earning last weekend off through their dominant display in their Qualifying Final against Manly two weeks ago 1st Grade will be up against the inform Shoremen from Northern Suburbs who accounted for reigning Premiers and 2012 Minor Premiers Eastwood last weekend.

“An exciting game awaits the rugby purist on Sunday and the 1st Grade squad are looking forward to the challenge of facing Norths this weekend,” said Head Coach Todd Louden.

“Norths are a very strong team and they will be dangerous across the park and as a squad we have worked on every aspect of our game to ensure everything is in place and that every member of the teams knows their job when Sunday rolls around.”

Colts 1 and 2 booked their spots in the 2012 Colts Grand Finals with wins last weekend against Randwick and Southern Districts, respectively.

While Colts 1 played a near faultless game, winning 60-24, Colts 2 has worked tirelessly this week on their discipline ahead of their Grand Final game as they had a tough battle against Southern Districts last weekend, eventually winning 34-23.

3rd Grade were back to their blistering best with a dominant display in their Semi Final win over Eastern Suburbs (39-12) last weekend to book their place in this weekend’s Preliminary Final against Northern Suburbs.
