Sydney University Wrestling Club (SUWC) member Jayden Lawrence has travelled to Pattaya, Thailand, where he will compete at the 2012 World Junior Wrestling Championships.
Training two to three times a day in the lead up to the Championships, Lawrence will he hoping to continue to put in some solid performances as he attempts to build upon his eventual unsuccessful 2012 Olympic qualification campaign.
Lawrence, who made it through the first phase of Olympic Games qualifiers in January’s 2012 Oceania Games at the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre (SUSAC), just missed out on representing Australia in London after his defeat at the second phase of the Freestyle Wrestling 2012 Africa and Oceania Olympic qualification tournament in Morocco in March.
Lawrence’s family, his sponsors and SUWC wishes him all of the best in Thailand.
