Sydney University women’s rugby team’s bid for a third successive premiership just failed on Saturday when they lost the season decider 7-3 to Warringah at Granville Park.
Having beaten all before them during the competition proper and wrapped up the minor premiership with a round in hand, the Students looked sure things to make it three titles in a row.
But they failed to take their opportunities on Saturday and one try from Warringah was all that was needed to seal victory for 2012.
Dour and tough were the two adjectives commonly used after the match which featured a scoreless second half.
