The Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) first grade team are set to take on a Penrith Emus outfit, in round 7 of the Shute Shield, which is full of confidence after this upset victory over Randwick last weekend.

The Emus upset the Galloping Greens 21-19, and only the week before pushed the undefeated Manly Marlins all the way, with the Marlins luck to get away with a 17-12 win at Nepean Rugby Park.

Todd Louden’s young University team stepped up and executed their game plan against an aggressive Northern Suburbs last Friday night.

“1st Grade took a significant step forward in defence, overall game composure and control, as well as a unity of purpose and play,” said Louden this week when reflecting on his teams Friday night football win against Norths.

“This week the team must prepare differently to ready themselves for this weekend’s game against Penrith,” commented Louden.

“We are very wary of Penrith as they have the ability to force teams out of their comfort zone and the young Uni side need to back their ability and stick to our game plan for the full 80 minutes.”
