The Sydney University women’s rugby team drew 12-12 against last year’s grand final opponents Parramatta on Wednesday, before smashing Penrith 49-5 on Sydney Uni Oval No. 1 on Saturday.
In the game against Penrith, Uni started the game with some powerful defence that led to an early try. A second was scored before half-time.
In the second half, Sydney Uni dominated possession and scored try after try as Penrith’s defense grew weary.
On Sunday five Sydney University representatives were selected to play for the Sydney Women’s representative team against the British Army. Sheridan Gho (Captain), Stephanie Cuvelier, Wellie Clark, Marj Spooner-O’Neill and Emilie Flanagan all played their part in Sydney Women’s 22-20 victory.
