Three members of the Sydney University Archery Club have been rewarded for their impressive results with top 50 national target ranking positions.
In the compound bow men’s division Guy Phillips is ranked 12th in Australia, while Ricci Cheah is 16th.
In the recurve bow men’s division Donald Chiou (ranked 25th) and Ricci Cheah, once again (ranked 45th), also made the national top 50.
In June, Chiou achieved a second place finish at the Macarthur Field Archery competition held at Camden and District Archery Club.
Chiou is currently representing SUAC in archery tournaments in Florida and Canada. He will return to Sydney in time to shoot the State Field Archery competition at Illawarra Archers Range on August 27 and 28.
Later in June the 2011 State Short Course, held at Sydney Olympic Park Archery Club, saw Sydney University representatives achieve a number of excellent results, led by Zachary Nicholson.
Nicholson finished first in the recurve barebow men’s division. It was Nicholson’s first tournament – a fantastic achievement.
In the recurve freestyle men’s division Chiou (5th) and Jacky Ganwani (16th) competed strongly.
Phillips (2nd) and Cheah (6th) also performed very well in the compound freestyle men’s division.
