Nine Sydney University Australian Football Club (SUAFC) players have been selected to play in AFL Sydney representative squads in June – eight of whom are on Elite Athlete Program scholarships.
Max Carter, Jack Caspersonn and Jesse Martin (who are all on scholarship) have been selected in the AFL Sydney Development Representative squad (Under 23s) to play against Riverina FL at Newcastle Sportsground on Saturday, June 11.
Tim Barton, Adam Campbell, Sam Crichton, Peter Dugmore, Tom Elkington (scholarship holders) and Alex Lee will all turn out for the AFL Sydney squad (Open Age) who play AFL Cairns at Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns on Sunday, June 12.
The club has started the season strongly, currently sitting third on the AFL Sydney Premier Division table behind Balmain and East Coast on percentages.
General Manager and Director of SUAFC, Brett Pettersen says the selections in thes Sydney AFL representative squads are well and truly deserved.
“We (SUAFC) are very proud of our development program and to see so many of our players selected to participate in Sydney AFL representatives fixtures is particularly pleasing,” he said.
The club takes on St George this weekend at No 1 Oval this Saturday, as part of the 2011 Ladies Day.
