Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness Elite Athlete Scholarship holder and gymnast Prashanth Sellathurai has opened his international season in style with a gold medal performance at the 2011 Challenge Cup in Doha, Qatar.
Sellathurai, winner of two gold and one bronze at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, tallied 15.950 points in the men’s pommel to finish ahead of Saso Bertoncelj from Slovenia and Qihua Liao of China.
Sellathurai, presently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography, then went on to finish sixth in the men’s rings with a score of 14.800.
