Judo senior team member Adam Wawrzyniak last weekend claimed first place in the Under 73kg men’s division at the Judo NSW titles at Homebush.
Wawrzyniak, a disciplined fighter and technical specialist, has spent years practicing judo in Australia and Japan.
Istvan Szasz continued the club’s competitive tradition and his rise to national representation with a second place position in the Over 100kg men’s division.
Sydney Uni Judo President Tom Shaw stood out with some early wins, but succumbed to some very competitive black belts later in the day.
Chris Wong fought his way back into fine form and will be a strong contender for the club this year, while Marion Monier fought well above her weight division for some strong wins.
